Germany Ambassador Strengthens Ties with Rwanda through a Visit to Rubengera Technical Secondary School and ICPC Karongi

Rubengera, Rwanda — Hon. Heike Uta Dettmann, the German Ambassador to Rwanda, visited Rubengera Technical School and the Integrated Crafts Production Centre (ICPC) of Karongi-Rubengera, showcasing Germany’s commitment to supporting vocational education in Rwanda.

Rubengera Technical School, known for its focus on carpentry and technical skills, plays a crucial role in empowering young Rwandans. During the visit, the Ambassador toured the workshops, observed students’ work, and highlighted the importance of vocational training in fostering economic growth. "Skilled trades are essential to our economies, and Germany is proud to support Rwanda's efforts in practical education," she stated.

The Ambassador’s visit to the ICPC Karongi further underscored Germany’s continued collaboration in enhancing Rwanda’s technical and vocational education sectors. Discussions included future partnerships focused on teacher training and modernizing workshop equipment.
